uhhh this is placeholder text from this r/gnome post Ok ok so here me out. I'm an avid Gnome fan and use it as my desktop daily driver because of the elegant and easy to see UI elements. I use Linux as my primary system. I confess though that sometimes there are times when you want to switch to Windows because of certain games or software requirements.
I gnash my teeth every time I have to do this in a duel boot or even a PassthroughVM setup because of windows tiny start menu and ugly, hard to customize Icon themes.
What I wanted to know, is there any one who has experimented with using gnome as a sort of "alternative desktop launcher" for Windows? Is or would this even be possible and how would some one even start going about doing this? Perhaps using WSL you could some how create linking launchers back to the original windows system and just use the 2 sets of window managers from windows and linux? I'm purely speeking hypothetically ofc but I was currious to see what kind of imput i'd get from the community. Gnome and windows would be awesome imo and would definitively have use cases.
