Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX can be safely left in any inert object storage solution, and is currently kept at site-xx. Canon photocopiers including the affected Canon MZ-001 have been recalled under the guise of fire safety concerns.

The anomalous activity of the device has not ceased even 12 months after the object's active engagement in communications with Foundation personnel. Further records of the SCP-XXXX-1 event are not considered necessary, and as such the operation of SCP-XXXX is not permitted.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the embedded scanner element integrated into one particular Canon MZ-001 printer, owned by a member of Foundation personnel. Prior to the date 16/02/2016, SCP-XXXX had not yet been used by this personnel member, only the non-anomalous¹ components of the printer being used, including the printer's networking capabilities.

Upon first use of SCP-XXXX, the image was not photocopied as intended. The photocopy produced showed a human hand on the platen glass, instead of reflecting the inserted document.

1. Other parts have been tested, and are entirely inert. SCP-XXXX fails to operate in the presence of Scranton Reality Anchor while the rest operates as expected, aside from failing to detect a fault with SCP-XXXX's operational state.
